I think I have my truck sold and can start looking seriously at an Excursion. Is there any difference between the two above mentioned years? Any good reason why I should buy the '01 over the '00? Of course we're talking about two similarly equipped trucks.
I went and looked at a 2001 Excursion diesel tonight and the cup holders are actually different than the 2000 that I looked at a couple of weeks ago (better than my '99 SD truck). It has 107k miles on it and they are asking $22,495. I have been looking for a couple months now and this seems like a decent deal. The guy I sold my truck to is supposed to come get it tomorrow, so if that goes through, then I'll most likely be joining the Excursion family.
FYI i purchased a 2000 4x4 V10 for $11900, 103k Limited, great shape!... you may find a better deal.. but the diesels do bring more money. any waranty with it?
good luck and welcome soon to the X'ers

Well, I made the purchase. It does not have a warranty, but they went through it pretty thoroughly. I feel good about the purchase. It's a limited edition with all the goodies, so I'm pretty excited. My wife is very happy with the purchase. Now our kids fit in without kicking us in the back of the seat and there's loads of room for whatever we need to haul. Thanks to everyone here I think we were able to get us a truck that will last us for the years to come, as I've been reading here for a couple months now. As far as the cup holders, they are definitely a better set up than my '99 SD truck was.
