300
300
Ok I have a 1976 ford 300 engine out of a truck and was wondering what all would be needed to put it in my 1980 ford 150, if it able to fit in it.
I am doing this because the 351m in it is all rigged up the motor mounts are homemade, the person before me didnt want to get a longer drive shaft so they just scooted the engine back, and i know its not safe to drive it. so any help would be nice.
Also what tools should I be looking at to do the trade. How high of a garage should I be in, because The garage its in right now is only 8'. Would it be alot nicer if I took off the doghouse?

Definitely take the hood off, makes anything much easier. Go to the local salvage yard and pull the engine mounts and stands from an early 80's truck that had a I6 or a Windsor motor. Then you can use those to drop in your I6. You will also need a new tranny or the bellhousing as the I6 will not directly bolt to the M based bell housing.
