Well, I just bought my 2004, Black, ext. cab, F-150 Lar. 4x4. Last night, a friend of mine had his birthday party out at his hunting camp in central (eastern) Florida. Well, there is an actual swamp out there and it is a little worse now because of the hurricanes. Needless to say, I had the smallest truck out there. All the other guys had some seious machines. most with 4 and 6 " lifts. Well, I had to take my truck out there with them. They were kind and helped me stay "out of trouble". The water wasn't much under the level of the door jams. In many cases though, it was deeper then the head lights! I do not consider this to be one of the best choices I have made! But it was a blast.
Everyone was so impressed with the ability of the truck to do some of the things they were able to. A couple of the guys had chevys and couldn't believe how tough my truck was. I almost got stuck twice, but it was as if my truck knew it had to show off (maybe it was me showing off).
When we got back to camp, I was relieved because we had to leave on of the truck out there to retreive the next day, it wasn't mine though. Everyone came up to me and was saying they actually wanted to see what the new fords could handle (and to see how stupid I was), so they went through some spots that they for sure thought would get me stuck (niice friends huh..haha).
I am absolutely amazed at how awesome this truck is. A 4" or 6" lift is in the near future.
I haven't built up the courage to do any true mudding yet. Occasionally I pass a truck in town covered in mud and it makes me want to be out there slinging around some of my own. Anyway, I guess my point is that it is good to hear someone having some mudding fun with his new F.
I can't tell you how to post pix but if you figure it out toss some up there with the mud!
Haha....yeah it's dirty, actually, the pics aren't really able to capture the entire situation because I rinsed a lot of it off last night when I got home (2:30am) and then again this morning before I took pictures. I wish I would have waited to rinse it off until I was able to get some realy good and dirty pics of it.
I have had mine muddy several times. The only thing I hate about muddin is the $20.00 cleanup afterwards LOL. I have been in water almost to top of tires and went thru it like nothing. I have a 3" Body Lift is all but it performed very well. I was in the same situation with the BIG trucks, 3 peeps got stuck - I was not one of the three LOL!
