Just given a free '92 Eddie Bower Edition
.. With a bad motor.
I was just given a '92 Eddie Bower AWD van with the 4.0. It seems to be loaded with everything. It will start and drive but the last owners ran it out of oil and now it knocks rather well so I'm getting ready to change it out. They gave it to me as they have no idea what they had and did not want to go through the hassle of swapping the motor.
Anyway, How do I tell if it is the extended version or not? It does have the third seat in the back with some space behind it. Also can I use any 4.0 out of an Explorer or Ranger? It looks identical the 4.0 in my '93 Explorer.
Thanks for putting up with the newb questions.

It should be easy to identify an extended van. There should be about 2 feet of space between the back of the rear seat and the tail gate. I'm betting that's what yours is, as most EB models were extended length.
About the motor, I'd pull it out and have it checked to see if it's rebuildable before looking for another one.
