Truck lacking power
ive got a 1987 460, bone stock. i raced my friends '94 chevy yesterday, bone stock with a 350 in it, and he almost won me. so, i was wondering why i was lacking so much power, ive got a C6 tranny, so i have a great transmission, can anybody help me?!

Well at least you still beat him! You gotta realize technology has come a long ways. Not sure if your truck is fuel injected but I'm sure his is. Gearing probably played a big part in this race too. He probably had an extra one or two depending on whether it's a stick or auto. Guarantee If you hook them bumper to bumper you'd pull that chevy all over the place. You got twice the torque.
anymore guesses, btw, i goofed, its a 1990, and im carbureted. lol!
do you think i could beat his '76 with a 350, hes got a camshaft, exhuast and, granny gears?
