I'm about 99% sure I need to change a few glow plugs, the "wait to start" light takes awhile, after it starts it runs rough for three or four seconds and the Voltmeter "flicks" for the first 8 or 9 seconds of run time. I read here after searching the forums to test them with an ohmeter and it should read 0, test what? Pull the wire off and test the wire to the glow plug? Key on or Off? Any help would be appreciated.
Get a test light, clamp it to the pos batt cable, pull wire off the glo plug, touch the probe to the spot the wire came off.If the light comes on the plug is good,if not its bad.Carry on to the next ones. The clicking and volt meter jumping after starting is normal cycling of the glo plug relay, the colder it is outside the longer it will cycle.A short wait to start light is a indication of bad glo plugs. You should be seeing aprox 10-15 secs before it starts to cycle.
