Tach

I am thinking of putting a tach in my 85 A factory one.
Do i need the whole cluster or like i would prefer just pull the tach out and wire it up?

If 85 is the same as 80-84 (same dash), you can mount just the tach right in with your cluster....plug and play.

ok thanks
my dash is the same as my friends 82 5 digit odometer and no trip meter.

Would i have to run wires? Or would it just plug up with prongs on the back?

I haven't personally done it, but I've read about it on this forum...connects right up to circuit board. It supposedly even knows if you have a six or eight. I have a Grand Prix that does the same...I've done THAT one.

There's a switch of sorts that you turn to tell the tach weather its a 6 or an 8.
