Well I am going to do it.... I am going to buy a '94 F-150 4x4. It is not 100% final (the "boss" isn't too sure yet) but I think it is a done deal. I'll know tomorrow. '94 is about 30 years newer then the other 3 trucks or the rancheros I have now. I lifted the hood and couldn't find an oil bath air cleaner anywhere...??? and there was only 1 belt, and something called AC that I will have to figure out.???? Actually it was the shear embarrassment of driving the wife's car to the Christmas party that prompted me to buy something a little newer (and less girlie) to use for long trips.
Glad to hear your adding another Ford to the familly. I have to agree though, looking at some of the g2g pics my multi colored 85 looks kinda odd next to all those new trucks.

Well, with my 66 being an old beat up farm truck, the 62 a 10 year old restore... the 63 in the middle of a paint job... One ranchero in primer and the other one a rust bucket.... I had many reservations about joining.. In fact when my wife saw all the nice trucks at the party she quit calling this the "Ugly Truck club".... Reservations where quickly put aside at the Christmas party. The people where so nice that we decided to stay in, and be invovled. It made such a nice impression on us... My dad would say: "You're Good People"... that's his highest honor BTW.
When I joined FTE, I had a 1980 F-150. Jon and Duane have seen this truck and it's nothing to be proud of. I skipped g2g's due to my truck and now I wish I hadn't. This chapter consists of one heck of a group of people. You shouldn't worry about what you drive to a meet. It's our love of Ford trucks that brought us together, but our friendship that keeps us together.
Congrats on getting a newer model truck, just wait till the first time you go to work on it. There is a motor underneath all that plumbing and wiring somewhere. LOL This chapter is more about the people and how they interact verses how tricked out there truck is. We have all sorts of trucks here from the great looking ones to the daily farm truck but what is common is the people that own them and what they bring to the group. You take our members out of their trucks and they would still be a solid group to ride the river with but without them the trucks would just be a parking lot.
Flip4Ford, congratulations on the new(er) truck. I guess I'll have to drive the 54 F250 to a g2g just so folks that have something newer won't feel too bad. At 10 mpg and about a 13 gal tank it also allows for lots of pit stops. Also the body gives new meaning to rat rod. Was nice to get to know you both at the Christmas party.
Ya know with all the red truck/white truck stufff... won't it be a shame when a 30 year old (plus) Yellow truck dusts them all? Mine doesn't shut down @ 100, like the newer trucks do. :-)
The red trucks were probably just feeling sorry for you and giving you a head start. Flip4ford, I like yellow. If I ever get around to getting the 54 painted that is going to be the color. Maybe there are other yellow colors out there to jump in.
