Are you swapping to a dual res master? If so, the Mustang will work, as well as one from a 68-72 F100. They might even be the same part, check it out at your favorite parts house... The thing to check for is the pushrod length. I do not know about the Mustang rod, but you will need to cut about an 1" or so off of the F100 rod.
Thanks, yes Im Going Dual Setup, also Checked Price On 71 Ford With Power Brake 90.00 Dollars At Auto Zone.also Need Brake Light Info.i Recall Soeone Putting One On The Brake Line,to Go By Pressure?
It will be the same switch that came on the '66. All you need to do is get a "T" that will fit it and cut the line where you want it, then double flare it with a couple of fittings the same size as the switch.
Not sure about the Mustang rod length. Went with 76 truck upgrade and used 1/2 alum stock as spacer between the master cylinder and the firewall. Cut them about 2-3 " long and drilled the 2 holes for the bolts. Found the alum has nec. strength, and easy to drill the mounting holes.
Understand swapping to switch is better way to go. I did not know any better at the time and kept the original pressure switch for the brake lights. Got a 'T' fitting from Napa parts, the p/n is 7900. Drilled out the center female outlet and tapped with same thread as the pressure switch. Took about 20 min. if have all the tools beforehand. Works great.
