Mines a V6, so I'll spare you as I think the V8 and it's tranny have far fewer issues than the sweet 6 cylinder models. Do check the tranny for shifting and how the fluid looks.
Driver door handle breakes off inside the door, makes a rattle.
Power window gets lazy.
PDL switch on mine has given up. (I'm under 80 k by the way)
Figure on new shocks. Check the threads, some folks report very good results with certain shocks.
My radiator popped an unfixable leak, $290 or so, install was pretty easy.
Parking brakes: The parking brake is "drum in hat" and the shoes are delicate little flowers that cost a fortune at Ford. Shop around to replace those if need be or at next rear brake job. Ask about it before they start work and destroy them trying to get the rear rotor off.
Twitchy handling. Weak roof. Do not roll this truck over. Avoid sharp turns at 75mph with 8 or 10 unbelted children in the truck for example.
Twitchy handling: Try 35psi, but feel free to go down to 30 if it feels better.
I find 35 to be really twitchy, but I like it.
Blend door, see the thread up top about that.
Driver seat bolts are wimpy, check for wiggle.
