Near Miss!!
Went to pick up my new 6.0L Auto Trans, 4 X 4 Manual engage Lariat yesterday. Special ordered it with what i wanted back in October. Did not take delivery, though it is on my insurance policy.
Have owned 4 X 4 Chevy w/ Electric engage for nine years, which is why i ordered the manual engage on the ford. Could not get the new truck into 4 wd., nor could the service department. Also, truck has weld spackle painted-over from the factory!!! The weld spackle is located just behind the driver side rear door, and very noticeable. I thought Ford had better quality control than this?
Can anyone with paint experience tell me what they will have to do to correct the paint blemish, i.e. do they have to blend in the whole area around the weld spackle since the paint is White Clearcoat. I had a similar situation with the Chevy where they had to blend the paint on the drivers side doors and it shows big-time now after some age.
It is very disappointing to be prepared to spend $40,000 on a new vehicle, and hve it delivered with these issues. psongy.
