ECT and MAP

'87 b II 2wd...trouble codes 21 and 22...replaced MAP sensor yesterday, no good on the repair. Truck is still running rich and feels like it's only running on 4 cylinders. I am at the end of my rope. I cannot figure out what the problem is here. Any and all help is appreciated. Does the ECT have that much to do with the performance of the truck?????

did you check the plug wires to make sure they didnt come loose? Did you check the compression on each cylinder to make sure you don't have a dead cylinder?

no I didn't check for compression, but I'm beginning to think I need to. I haven't checked for loose plug wires because I replaced them (and plugs) a week ago. How do I go about checking compression???
