1998 F150 Overdrive Light Flashing

I crank the trunk, put it in reverse, and 30 - 45 secs after I start going forward the overdrive light starts flashing. It doesn't stop until I turn the truck off. I checked the transmission fluid and it's at the correct level. What could be causing this, and is it something I can fix?

the transmission shift solinolds are the problem need to have your dealer or transmission shop change one or both of them they are a common problem and are expencive

depending on the condition of the fluid, try a trans flush sometimes that brings things back to life, it's the cheapest place to start. if that does'nt work than get it properly diagged. depending on the condition of the trans. it may be the last death throws of the unit.
