A while back I broke one of my front tire studs, well this weekend since I just bought new tires and rims for my trucks I thought I would replace the broken stud. The only problems is that I can't figure out how to get the hub off so I can do this does anyone have any suggestions.
It's it's a 4x4, follow the link above. Replacing the stud on a 4x4 *usually* means having the rotor turned after you do it, but not always. It depends largely on how careful you are.
The right way to do it is to have the new stud pressed in. You can do it with a punch and hammer, or you can also pull it on with a spacer, a lug nut, and an impact wrench.
If it's 4x2, the procedure is pretty much the same, but you generally won't warp the rotor on a 4x2 because the hub and rotor are one piece.
