Hi everyone,
I bought my 1998 Ranger (4.0, auto. extended cab, 4x4) back in april of last year. Since then I brought it to the track twice just to see what it would run... Stock I ran 17.3 seconds and after adding a cold air intake and synthetic oil I ran 17.2 seconds. My question is... does this sound slow to you? Just seems that the truck doesn't have much get up, or as much as it should have. I have changed the fuel filter, and also have done a tune up on it (just as regular maintainance because I beat on it ) Truck runs great and has 90,000 miles on it, just wondering if there could be anything amiss somewhere.
Thanks,
-Phil

1/4 mile... I know the truck isn't going to run 13 seconds or anything... and I don't race the truck, I just want it to be as fast as it can be... Just in case. My buddy used to have a chevy S10 (Yuck) that ran 16.3 seconds, but it was a stick shift, 4.3, 4x4, and regular cab. But a full second faster for an extended cab, Auto ranger just seems a little extreme.
