I have a 2005, F250, Diesel, automatic, with 800 miles on it. When towing the truck makes a noise and feels like the motor is missing. Again it is a diesel. After going to the dealer they contacted engineering. The dealer was told that all 2005 diesel's are having this problem. Instead of the exhaust gasses leaving the exhaust they are coming back to the intake. Ford engineering does not have the problem fixed yet and they don't know when they will. Has anyone alse had this problem and if so were you able to get it fixed?
My 05 F350 does the same thing. It burps usually in 2's. I only have this problem while at alitudes above 4k feet. 1 month after I had mine they gave me a flash. I still did the same thing after the flash. I just installed an AFE and my banks and will be towing again next weekend. See if that changes anything.
Mine does it up hill, down hill and on flats. Usually above 15psi.

Hang in there most if not all problems can be fixed by a good dealership.

My 05 250 diesel automatic has 1063 miles and no problems. I've towed my 7500 lb construction trailier about 275 miles and no problem what so ever. This truck I think will pass everything on the road except for a fuel station. This is just a great truck to drive, ride in, or tow with. I could not be happier.
