Gentlemen (and Ladies), I have a question. I have a 67 F-100 4X4 with the stock front bumper and I want to add a fully fuctional grill guard with brush guards, winch mount and auxil. lights. I wish Warn made a Trans4mer Winch mounting system for my truck.
Does anyone know of where I can get one; short of having one custom made for the big $$$ or having to purchase an ugly aftermarket bumper. I do want to retain the factory stock bumper look.
I hate the stock bumper on my 67 f100 4x4. In a month I am tearing it off and welding on a good chunk of steel. I have pulled off those stock ones before. Napolean Dynamite says chicks only did guys with skills. Bust out yours and weld up something a freight train would have a hard time pulling off. Good luck.
12" C-channel, tapered and bent on the sides for clearance, Ramsey winch between the rails, sockets for a removable front pipe rack, front hitch with removable license plate mount.
I had mine plasma cut from 1/2" A36 with 5/8" brackets that mount to the frame and housing a 20K pound garwood pto winch. A friend put his highboy into a telephone pole while I was building my bumper. I was inspired to build it tough. It has pushed over trees, driven over cars, skidded logs and doesn't show any sign of use besides some missing paint. It cost a 12 pack of coors, a few pounds of 7018 rod, a can of rustoleum spay paint, a dozen grd 8 bolts and some electricity. You aren't going to find aftermarket bumpers or brush guard crap for older 4x4 trucks. Go buy a $100 stick welder and make your own bumper or girly brushguard.

any of y'all wanna part with the bumper brackets for the "stock front bumper" since you dont use them anymore? Id love to have a set if you dont need em!
Have a look at my gallery...mine came with this monstrosity welded on....It's more like a Bow than a bumper.....It has spots for mounting a winch and two posts for lights.
I see you live in GA, I am right off exit 43 I-285s, if that is close enough and you need a bumper built, let me know. I still have a couple of 1/2 x 12 x12 pieces of steel left for winch mounts. Probably good enough for up to an 8k winch.
Hey "Rebocardo" thanks. When I decide what I am going to do I'll let you know if I can use the steel.
If I fabricate one I may try to make it look similar to the Classic Bumper System that Warn makes for newer trucks. With my job we have trucks that use the newer Warn Trans4mer Winch Mounting Systems, and I like the way those look; not so angular like the homemade ones that I have seen. I'm just spending alot of time on this truck and I don't want the front bumper to look like an afterthought. Call that girly if you want to; the rest of the truck is definately not girly. Thanks for all the input, I'll let you folks know what I come up with.
Good luck with your project. Post some pics when you are done. You have to make do with what you have. Take your time. Anything worth doing is worth doing right the first time.
for the rules on bumpers. I think you are only allowed to raise or lower them two inches, but, I think that refers to the stock bumper, not an aftermarket bumper.
I checked the Warn website out today and the website states that there is a Classic Bumper Winch Mounting System availiable for a 1972 F-100 4X4. To make sure I sent an e-mail to Warn's Tech Department asking why they did not list that system back to 1967. The Technician advised that there is a difference between the 67 and the 72 and the 72 system would not work on a 67. Now correct me if I am wrong, but other than a cosmetically different grill and some moulding, weren't all 4X4 F-100 trucks the exact same from 67 thru 72? Practically everything is interchangeable. Maybe I am missing something, can you guys enlighten me. Perhaps Warn's site meant to say 1973 ???????????
The only differences in those years that I am aware of is between the F100 and the F250. Also, I believe that the '73 used the same front bumper as the '72.
