IMO, I think it will depend on the weather in the NE. If it it is mild, the supplies will build and prices will continue to drop, probably slowly but steady. As the weather gets colder, they will stabilize and maybe climb depending on the temps. in the NE.
We're as low as 2.03 a gallon today, compared to something like 2.50 a few weeks ago.
I too hate to see diesel prices higher than gas . In northern Indiana we are now just 11 cents more than gas . Todays price was 1.90 a gallon for diesel as a low . And 2.07 as a high . When I bought my truck diesel was 1.59 . Man will we ever see that price again ?
Last winter, diesel went up over the price of premium gas. That is because of the home heating oil and other demand.
Price of diesel here has dropped to $1.959.
But watching the news, the price of crude has dropped significantly because there is currently a glut. The opecers have decided to cut production until the glut has reduced. Now I notice when the price of crude trading goes up, all the station operators run out and crank up the prices. But now the price of crude trading has dropped, the prices haven't dropped that much. Why? We are using diesel as fast as it is produced. Ever remember hearing about any new refineries being built lately?
Paid $1.77 per gallon for diesel here in Texas today. Although regular gas is down to $1.59 here also. If diesel comes down to that I will buy 500 gallons...
Before I bought my 04 I figured out exactly how much gas would cost per mile on a diesel . I also figured the cost of gas per mile on the V-10 . The V-10 was about .0994 cents per mile(gas $1.79 gal. divided by 18mpg) The diesel was .0935 cents per mile(diesel $1.59 gal. divided by 17mpg) . Not a big difference then . Reality is diesel $1.99 gal divided by 15.5mpg = .1283 cents per mile . OOps!!
But I love my truck and wouldnt change it to a V-10 if you payed me .
.......The V-10 was about .0994 cents per mile(gas $1.79 gal. divided by 18mpg.............
I would love to see a V-10 average 18 mpg.... but it is not going to happen in normal driving. Lucky to see an average of 13 and that is being optimistic.
My V-10 bounce between 9-13 on short runs but the overall average was 11.5 no matter what.
