im wonderin..right now im swaping a 302 for a 351w...and im thinkin that later on when this truck becomes a toy about droping a cat c5 diesel in it..or a john deere...lol how awesome would that be??? im think that if i boxed the entire frame with 1/2 plate that it would make it strond enough? would it? i know some people would say id be better of takin the fram off a 250 and choppin and welding it..but i dont wanna..if at all i just want that big semi sound from a lil bronco and also wanna be able to say that is cat powerd..of course this is afew years down the road.
unfortunately, that (boxed frame) wont be enough. youll need a new rear end, a new front end, new stronger suspension (front and rear), new tranny, new driveshafts, etc.... if you do a search of this, you will find a lot of useful info on the subject.
well i knew that none of the drive train would be adequte for the diesel i was talkin about the fram..if i did the swap id get everything....id also switch to a manual, and for looks lol id put 5 inch stacks oner lol
Sounds like a great idea, whats a C5 cat? I've seen from c10 to c15, but never a c5. A 5.9 cummins fits in a F250 frame , and a Bronco frame has more room for your oil pan, why not put in one of them. You would be fine to adapt to your 205 case and 79 shafts had big ujoints.
