installed a rear bumper today, after the job was complete took off and no dash lights. Everything thing else works. heater, front and back lights, cig. lighter, dimmer, horn. No fuses are blown. Are their any wires in the rear of the truck that can affect the dash lights?
I had no dash lights either in my '66 CC. After tracing the circuits and checking/replacing bulbs, gound wire and yes, a bad fuse. Still no dash lights. I then found by moving the fuse within the fuse block, I'd get lights. I cleaned the fuse block up, checked rear for bad wires/connections, and sand papered the dash light fuse holder. That did the trick for me.
Coincidence with the new back bumper - maybe? A CS option had a towing wiring harness and I suppose if you have that and now with the work back there you have a grounding issue, it might affect some other circuits, but that seems a bit of a stretch to me (though anything can happen with electrical circuits).
