Hesitation

hello,
I have a 98 2.5 XLT Ranger and lately I have been getting a little hesitation when trying to accelerate. I am getting close to 30k, is there anything I should be weary of.. anything that I should check for sure besides the normal tune up stuff..i.e. spark plugs, oil, oil filter..?

Thanks
jp

you failed to mention your transmission type-if you have an automatic, it's past time to change the entire fluid and filter. otherwise, normal stuff like you listed you should check-also don't forget to check/replace your filters too!

good luck,
lc

LAST EDITED ON 13-Jun-01 AT 09:19 AM (EST)[p]I would replace the spark plugs and if that does not help I would remove the MAF sensor and the IAC sensor and clean with eletronic parts cleaner. Most likely you have a spark plug that is hosed up.

It is a 5 speed. I do change the oil and filters on a regular basis. I just wanted to know any important things that I might miss.
