1982 F-100 help, checking cable...

1982 F-100 help, checking cable...
I've been told this accelerator cable is out of a 1982 F-100 with a I-6 and automatic. Can I get a second opinion from someone that owns one and can see if the pictures match whats in your truck. Thanks allot the help is invaluable at this point.

That looks like the right cable because of it's length. The cable for the six is longer than the cable for a V-8, which is a lot shorter than that. The only thing that looks different than mine (and your's may have it and I just can't tell from the picture) is that mine has a spring built right into the carb end of the cable that acts as a return spring. Ford used to sell them by color coding. Last time I bought one years ago at the dealer they wanted to know what color the carb end of the cable was painted. If it wasn't pouring down rain I'd run out and look, but I think mine is blue. I don't see any reason the cables would be different from a stick to an automatic.
