DSB Question.
So anyways, my hearing is scheduled for December 17th. The FSE confiremed that there currently is no fix for my concern. That they hope to have a solution sometime early next year.
So after not hearing from Ford since November 10th when they left me a message to say that engineering was working on the "convenience problem", which would not affect the reliability or longevity of my vehicle, I heard from them today.
There dispute resolution specialist called to offer me an extended warranty, and confirmed that they are working on a solution for sometime early next year.
My question is, is this a standard offer to everyone? I sorta feel that they are trying to settle prior to the DSB?
Any non flame comments would be appreciated.
It was a minor miss with not poor idling, so it wasn't that hard to wait.
Good luck.
They said the FSE was aware of the problem, and he is "confident" that there will be a repair available in January.
Meanwhile I have a truck that feels as if it will stall at every light, stop sign, etc. Which I have had to live with for 7 or 8 months.
No denial, just that they are woirking on it.
The dealer serviec guy, says in the paperwork that this is normal operation.
I guess I will see how the DSB decides. Then sue.
I just am not very happy.

What was your "unresolved" warranty issue? What did board ask you? How did you address the "normal operation" issue?
The more I think about this the more ****ed I get.
At every stop light the engine feels like its gonna die, and then it shakes the change in the ashtray.
Any help would be appreciated.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Where is your Board? Mine is in Memphis, and there is no way for me to get off of work, or I would take it to them and let them decide if it is "normal".
I have had my 04 Screw Lariat for 25 days now and just turned 1,000 miles.
Painful sequence of events:
1) Picked up truck 11/19 after DT (dealer transfer since the color I wanted not on the lot). Had to sign contract prior to shipment. Could not test drive.
2) First drove truck 11/22...MAJOR VIBE/SHIMMY
3) Brought in 11/23...All 4 wheels out of balance.....Balanced..
4) VIBE/SHIMMY still exists....Only slightly better now
5) 12/6 - Brought back in for test drive with Shop foreman and he instructed me to wait on Ford's pending TSB which addresses this vibe problem. Didn't offer to attempt fix until TSB comes in. Might be next quarter???Will get back with me when they hear something.
6) 12/10...Met with dealership Gen Mrg., Service Mgr. and regional Ford rep. We all went for a drive and they acknowledged the problem.
7) Gen Mgr stated that he could not take the truck back and swap for another since I had registered it with the DMV.
8)Ford rep offered extended warranty, 1 monthly payment for my inconvenience, and the proposed fix per latest TSB.
This is where we stand as of now (Mon 12/13).
I requested a new replacement truck since, in my opinion, I purchased a defective product that they should have know about prior to picking up. I am not requesting my money back because I love the truck, I just want a truck like the one I test drove. If I liked burgundy, I wouldn't be in this situation right now since they have one on the lot and it drives solid.
I'm not sure if I should get the proposed fix due to the possibility of a DSB member wanting to drive my vehicle. If that happens, I want it to drive just like it does right now. Do I wait on the DSB procedure and put this one on blocks (and drive my old one) or do I take them up on their offer and cross my fingers?
And ideas/opinions/advice here would be greatly appreciated.
In Louisiana they have other legal means, besides Lemon Law to get rid of a lemon.
Forgive my spelling, but what you have is a redhibitory defect. A hidden defect, since you could not see the truck prior to purchase, that would have caused you to not purchase the vehicle.
Do a search and see if you can find anything to that effect wherever you live.
7) Gen Mgr stated that he could not take the truck back and swap for another since I had registered it with the DMV.

(7)Ford's FSE can replace the truck with no problem if he wanted too. The registered with the DMV with no swap is BS.
(8)Don't take the warranty.
Call your dealer and tell them to send you a Dispute Settlement Board Application. Fill out the application and sent it to the DSB. For more info search this site for "DSB" or my user name Labrador. I just got my 04 XLT Scab bought back last month. It may take a few months but no one should pay $30,000 for a truck with problems.
I want the truck to drive just like it does right now just in case a DSB board member wants to test drive it.
And who buys it back, Ford or the dealer?....I feel the dealer hung me out to dry on this one....He deserves this truck back!
