Removing cat, Do it!
WOW is all i have to say, got rid of the cat on my truck and it makes a huge difference! Replaced it with 3.5" pipe, tomorrow getting rid of the muffler and I'm going to have to get a downpipe because i broke one stud on the stock downpipe (just a good reason to get one 
)

hey i'm thinking about getting some dual stright exhuast... and i was just wondering how much louder.... at about an idle-1500 rpm's is the exhuast? (there are some neighbors i would rather not wake up in the mournin')

well just getting rid of the cat theres no difference at all. I've riden in a friends psd and he had just a piece of 4" pipe comming off his downpipe that was about 4" long and it still wasn't even that loud, just deeper sounding but it got louder when he'd get on it.

Did you check to see if your cat was partially clogged? I removed my cat as well and noticed no appreciable difference, save a little less smoke when climbing hills. The best my truck has ever sounded was during that job. I replaced the stock downpipe, then took it for a ride while all the rest of the exhaust was disconnected. Love to hear that turbo whine!

I glanced in it and it wasn't real bad, hit it on the ground and some soot came out. My main thing was fuel mileage, trying as much as i can to get better milage. Getting about 18 mpg and i just did this and got a tonneau cover so hopefully it goes up
