4x4 won't ingage
Iam like a lot of you guys I have problem with my 4 wheel drive. Of course it;s seem to be worse in the winter time when you need it.Could be because the oil is thicker. Anyway I am pretty sure that I have it narrow down to the fork or collar inside the front diff. When I put it in 4 wheel drive the light comes on, the front drive shaft is turning, the vacuum motor is moving but if I go under with a screw driver and pry it over with some force even only a fraction of an inch it will ingage. But lots a time if I torque it to much it will jump out. Iam planing to remove the diff from truck and take it apart and fix it. Replace the collar or fork or whatever. Here's my problem I have a Haynes repair manual but they don't show any details of the diff. Would anybody have a diagram or a picture of these parts ? or the inside of the diff?It would be very much appreciated. Or mabye somebody would have a procedure to do this. It look pretty straight forward. I am a indrustrial mechanic with all the tools. Any ideas? Thank you very much.

The front end on these is quite easy to work on.
Once you've got it out of the truck you need to remove the right side axle tube. The parts you'll be needing to look at are #20 & 21 in the picture.
The right side axle comes out with the tube.
