well guys im just waiting for the bank to come thru. ive got a deposit on a 94 f-250 351 5 speed, ext. cab long bed. xlt, black all the chrome trim and stuff. i was wondering which version of the 351 that is? if they only had one version any idea what the tourqe and hp specs were. when i did a vin search it came up with 351 efi HD. i was undernieth it and it had one big cat on it after a y pipe, actually looked more like a small muffler then a cat but that was all it had after the manifolds and y pipe other then the regualr muffler out to dual tips, but i thought only the 460 had dual tips? do i have a special hd version like the heavy duty 300 with limited emissions crap? it has the c9 rear end code which is the 4.10 limited slip.
anyways sory for the grammer im kinda in a rush but thanks for any help.
Congratulations on the new truck! It sounds real nice .
Sorry to disappoint you: the 'C9' rear end code is a 3.55 limited slip, not 4.10. At least you have the limited slip .
The HP/TQ figures for my '92 351 in an F350 are 215 HP @ 4200 rpm and about 325 lb-ft TQ @ 2800 rpm. As far as I know, there was only one version of the 351 in F250's and F350's. The y-pipe/single cat/muffler/dual tips exhaust is the regular stock setup. My F350 has the same thing.
Your exhaust sounds exactly the same as mine. The Y pipe runs into what I think they call a pre converter and then singles into the main converter. then it ran into a muffler with two tailpipes and I gotta say they were the ugliest tailpipes anyone could build. They hung down way too low, so I fixed mine. Granted I have no DEQ here so I removed all cats, built a Y pipe where the first cat hooked up and ran 3" single through a 40 flowmaster and out the rear passenger side. sounds quiet as long as I leave the passenger window closed. Nice rumble though.
