a little help plz

my aunt has a 89 ranger 2.9 auto. the problem is her son drove the truck went to school came out wont turn over. got a jump drove home and the truck has sat for about a month. i went to look and it started right up no problems. now it had a new battery and the alternator was checked from this problem before. could the starter be the problem getting hot mabey? 2wheel drive 150,000 miles.

Without more to go on, your cuz could have just left the headlights on all day and drained the battery.

Don't fix what is not (now) broken!

Not that I'd admit to ever doing that in previous rides, either....

It is possible that the starter could have gotten hot and the brushes wouldn't have made contact...but that usually only happens if the truck has been running for a while. I would go along with Al's theory, he probably just left something on.

a little help plz

well the story is no lights left on. the new battery was put in because of this problem before. i told told her i need to drive around shut off for awhile and try to start. is ther any sensor or part of ignition that mabey acting up? thanks alot, oh yeah i guess the local garge she took to told her the alternator is ok because he adjusted it. do you think he adjusted the belt or did some kinda mysterious fix for a little more money.
