does any one know what axle is in the front of a 1976 f-250???
(dana 60 or dana 44?)

 

could be either, how big are your hubs? small hubs- dana 44-9f
bigger hubs dana 44 HD
or Dana 60

I know the 44's are stamped on the pumpkin housing, not sure if the others are or not....

 

if it's original it's a dana 44. ford diddn't use the dana 60 until 78.

 

there are 8 lugs with half ton hubs?? kinda wierd if u ask me.
there is a stamped # on the axle tube, if i get # can u tell me what i have?

 

bigger brakes and wheel bearings though.

 

so its a dana 44 with 3/4 ton running gear? right?
