engine differences

hey guys im a van guy in a truck section but anyways, i was wondering the differences in specs between the aeros and the rangers. im trying to find a way to stroke my 3.0 a little. maybe a bigger bore too. but since i havnt been through the engines im kinda lost right now. ive got the 91 shorty 2wd if that helps. thanks

Hmm... I could be wrong, but I don't believe that there is much difference at all.

I'm pretty sure they are the same engine. I don't know how much stroking it would do. These little "Vulcans" are just about pushed out to their limits. It's been in the Ford lineup for so long that they've tweaked just about every last HP out of it.

what about cams? do the rangers have a better cam? i was looking on a site for rebuild kits and it said specify ranger/aero for cam difference. any ideas? thanks guys.
