Yesterday in Mass. it was raining and icy(A nice combo) I went out to my truck to go to lunch and the glow plugs were not cycling.After lunch ( I went with someone else) I came back got on the sight (FTE) and looked through the old threads, I found one that suggested I jump the Sloenoid directly to the battery, I was able to go out to the truck, try this and it started right up. If it had not been for this sight I would have been stranded and more that likely working in the dark, guessing on what to do. Thanks for all the help you guys provide consistantly. FTE IS AWSOME!!!!
I have heard so many use the word "solenoid" to describe the "starter relay" on the right fender.
How to remember the difference....Solenoids usually push or pull things like starter drives, metering valves in the IP, etc, relays close electrical circuits horn relay, starter relay etc. ........that is the way I rememeber them.
He jumped the glow plug relay.
Inside the relay is a plunger that moves to complete the circuit;
