What is this thing??
On the far passenger side corner there is 'Something' with a vacuum hose going to it. It has a little 'extending arm' (lack of better word) that varies with vacuum. If I pull the hose off, the 'arm' extends. Engine seems to run the same with hose on or off.

Got a question about the line going to it...
It comes off a 2-way splitter and then runs into a big loom. (black colored at this time). It comes out of the loom white-colored. Is there any reason why the line goes into the loom?

I think it splits off - it comes from the engine, goes to the hvac controls in the cab, and then goes out to the fresh air door vacuum servo under the hood. It is either given vacuum or the vacuum is cut to either open or close the door, and this is controled by the position of the hvac selector.
