heater margaritas...

So, the heater in my 56 sounds just like my blender when I am mixing up a batch of margaritas... Is my motor tost? (it still blows fine) Or are there bushings in the blower housing that will do this? Perhaps there are some creatures making margaritas in there??

my 53 does the same thing-it has for the 13 years I've owned it

I just thought that was normal!

This time of the year especially your fan may have eaten some leaves or other debris, or mice may have turned it into a condo. Try pulling out the motor and fan unit, make sure the intake is clean and put one drop of light oil (3 in 1) on the motor bearing(s). Run the motor while it's out to see if it's the source of your noise. Air in the hoses can also make noise like a coffee maker, Make sure the radiator is full when hot (be VERY careful opening the radiator cap. It's far safer to open it when cool, then run the truck until the engine is fully to operating temp then add water if needed.).

I had a heater once that had sucked in a candy wrapper off the floor. I was happy when I pulled it out and the noise stopped. John

We have several large willow oak trees in our yard that have long thin very hard and tough leaves that easily go thru the intake grill and get sucked into the fan on our cars sound like a playing card in bicycle spokes until it gets dry enough to break apart then when we turn on the defroster we get a confetti shower.

I'll tell you what, the original heater motors on these old effies are stronger than anything out there today...you could hook a vacuum cleaner hose on the intake and clean your carpeting!
