Question sagging front end

i have a 76 F-150 2wd, when i replaced the 360 with a 460 the front end dropped considerably, ive it driven this way for 4 years without any problems, i recently replaced my wheels and tires with 15" rock crusher rims and mastercraft avenger 255 70 R15 tires (pics in gallery), i love these wheels but everytime i hit a dip at speeds over 40 they rub my fenders , i know i need new shocks, but i noticed my wheels arent sitting straight up and down, they are actually like this // \\, i dont think there is any way to adjust this, does this mean i need new coil springs? my buddy told me his dad had to heat the I-beams with a torch and bend the whole spindle and all down to straighten his, that sounds a little drastic to me and im not gonna mess with that unless its my only option....im hoping to get a few second opinions from anyone who has actual knowledge in this area......shocks are my first step, but i need input before i blow money on coils...........thanx...

Do NOT do this. Heating these parts weakens them and can be very dangerous. Shocks will not fix your problem as they don't hold any height to the truck, they only dampen the movement to prevent bounce. You can get new springs (ideal) or spring spacers that will pick things up an inch or two. I would look for coils that have about 2" of lift to compensate for the weight of the 460. You can find pairs of them on ebay from time to time for very cheap.

thats what i was thinking, it struck me kinda wierd when he told me that....im wondering if shocks would absorb enough so i dont have to raise the front up any, im planning on dropping the rear to even the truck out, its gonna be a street/strip/show truck eventually, so i want a low profile but still not rub the tires, oh yeah, i guess ill still have to replace the springs because of the angle of the tires huh, are weak springs what causes that off camber symptom????? could i replace with stock springs and stiffer shocks and get results?? that's probably a trial and error sort of thing im thinking.....

Everything pivots from the middle on the 2wd trucks so if the springs are compressed due to weight the tires will do this // \\. Just the same, if your springs are extra long or if you have the engine out of it they'll slightly do this \\ //. Stiffer shocks may fix the problem of tires rubbing when you hit bumps at speed but they won't solve the problem of the tires tilting. I'd start with springs.

ok cool, thanx for answering that for me, now pretty much the same subject but different truck, my F-250 snow fighter's front tires are the opposite, they do this slightly \\ //, its worn the outer edges off a couple sets of tires due to the fact it was my daily driver at one point, what would cause that on the dana 60, and would it be something thats not that big a deal if the truck is only driven off road?? i probably sound pretty dumb with all the questions i ask about these trucks of mine, but im just learning all the fords suspension stuff, ive always been an engine kind of guy!!thanx again.....
