Thumbs down Inspection Failed

I have a 93 Ranger w/ new plugs wires and coil packs. I took it to get tested yesterday and I failed the carbon monoxide portion of the test horribly! Last year I passed it w/ flying colors! Any ideas?

Could the rich condition be due to a dirty air filter?

I kept that bookmark for someone a while back, I'm sure.

Thanks for the info(link). I have also found that my catalytic converter has a crack in it. Would this be part of the problem? I will just try to JB weld it.

it might be the problem, j.b. weld may work temporarly, but the thermal cycling (getting hot then cooling back and forth over time) may cause it to crack again, worth a try though.
