99 Ranger Automatic Trans
I have a 99 Ranger with the 2.5 and automatic, regular cab. It has 36,000 on it. The problem I am having is when the truck is warm, and driven lightly. It shifts into second gear normally most of the time. Sometimes it bangs into second gear.(the same as it does on a cold day in winter, i'm sure you have all experienced that) However it is not normal for this to happen when it is warm. My second question is the shift from second to third. When its warm it shudders into third gear, it almost feels like it shifts 3 times into 3rd gear. All of these symptoms are when you drive the truck very easily. When you really get on it, the shift into third gear actually makes the truck jerk forward three times. When it was new, it had an awesome power shift and take off that that interval, now it jerks. The ford dealer did a hydralic test on the trans at 35000 miles and says that everything was fine. I know this is not correct, has anyone experienced anything like this before? Thanks
