You can get them as an option when you order a 6.0L truck too. Adding them on later to a single-alternator truck has always been described as "extremely problematic" and I don't know of anyone who has done it.

I heard that too. It has to do with the computer, in how it randomly selects which alternator to charge the glowplugs when starting the engine. I also read here, that replacing with a higher rated alternator is the way to go. Much easier and cheaper. I think our 6.0's come with a 140 amp and you can buy one in the 160-180 range or even a 200 amp. It'll charge that baby up in no time.

Adding anything to the drive belt system on these 6 L's is a chore, especially when you have to tap into the electrical system, NOT recommended. Follow big dually's advice, replace the existing alternator with a higher output model.
