Rotor Life?
I have a 2001 F150 Supercab, 2WD, 4.6, with HD tow package. It has 91,000 miles and I am about to replace the front pads for the second time. I will be using Hawk Super duty pads, as I did last time, which I believe are a ceramic / carbon fiber composite. The rotors are not scored or warped, but as they probably have worn somewhat at this point, I wonder what the odds are that they should be replaced. I realize that to be certain, I will need to measure them, but if its likely that they are worn significantly, I'd rather have the new ones on hand.

Well, I put the new pads on and the rotors seemed to be O.K. I didn't measure them (didn't have replacements anyway) as I had to do the job out in the cold and didn't want to prolong the agony. When Spring comes, I will check the rotor thickness.
Still would like to hear at what point (if any) the rotors are likely to be worn even if they've never been scored. Season's Greetings to all!
