Thinking about '01 Edge
I am thinking about purchasing a used '01 Ford Ranger Edge. What do you guys think about yours? I was hoping on a automatic transmission. How is the gas mileage? How is the ride? Any reviews short or whatever would be of help!

About the Ranger Edge.... If you want the power, get the 4.0. IF you want the mileage get the 3.0 (My 3.0 gets about 23-24 miles to the gallon) I have a 5spd, reg. cab and with the 5spd it does pretty descent on the power side...I dont have any complaints, I test drove a chevy S-10 too, but the Edge sits up higher and is alot better... Let us know what you get..

my wife and i love the 01 edge we have. its a 4x4 with the 4.0. gas suckes about 18-20 but we can haul tow anything. and there is something about that yellow everybody loves to stare. the rubber floor is nice too. no stains and the dog cant tear it up.

I have 2100 miles on my 2001 Edge.
It is a good truck, except for the lack of power from the 3.0 V6.
My trans. is the 5 spd man.
It has the heavier duty suspention, so it'll ride a little rough over uneven pavement.
Talk'em down on the price. Right now there are a lot of incentives on the ranger trucks. I got mine for around $13,000

Thinking about '01 Edge
Okay I bought mine in February and since then have lifted the frint torsion bars about 2" and added 31X10.50's on AR Baja wheels (15X10) With all the mods I still get approx. 20mpg and the power is okay with the 3.0L. The only prob you are going to run into is that you HAVE to order a 4.0L reg cab according to Ken Grody Ford in Carlsbad, Ca. I bought mine used with 67 miles on the odometer for $14,800. And since two trips across country back home to Alabama have 15,900 miles on it. Also it does great in deep mudholes and sticky red clay mud, even with 2WD.
