Quick alternator question

I'm trying to find what size my alternator is (in amperage, of course). I believe it is stock, judging from the appearance, and the fact that I'm the second owner, and the first owner is a friend of mine.

Since my truck is a base-model 1985 F-250 single-cab, I'm betting it's a smaller alt. since there's really nothing for it to power (trucks back then were so simple! ). It's got the 351W HO 4bbl, A/T, P/S, no power locks or windows.

Can anybody help?

My best guess would be around 55amps.

There is a number stamped on the case that will tell you what it is, although if its a rebuilt with a higher amperage rating it won't be stamped on the case. Usually they range from a low 35 amp to as high as 65 amps on stock models with autolocks, power windows and electric seats (thunderbirds and lincoln cont.) its easy to boost the amperage on an alt, just buy an 130 amp model from your local Starter an Alt shop if you have one, or go online to price it.
