Front end's rattlin'
Hi folks,
My 00 X's front end seems to be making a rattling noise. It has 80k on it and I am not sure what to make of it. Anybody have any ideas what it could be?

Is it a clunk as you go over (even slightly) rough terrain? If so, it's probably the links on the front sway bar. I just had mine replaced last week. The noise had me worried that something would fall out of the front end while I was towing a load of firewood (10k #s). My mechanic had a little difficulty finding it, but eventually pulled the front sway bar off and test drove it..... all gone. The links have a bolt and ball joint at one end. In my case, the bolt was very sloppy in the ball, while the new ones were very solid. The links were about $55 apiece.... but the piece of mind is priceless.
