Dump Bed Conversion
Hi FireMedic1468 here,
Has anyone here seen or done a dumpbed conversion on a Ranger yet?
I have most of the parts for a full size pickup truck sans a few bolts and minor retrofitting.
Thanks for any input! =)

Not a lot of load capacity, but it's alot easier to sneak around the yard. It's more for weekend odd jobs than anything, I'd think it sure would be a pretty trick thing to do!
i saw one once on a 93-96 series stepside bed that was for show but with a liitle more effort i think it would work for usage as long as you didnt try to re-gravel your driveway wth it. the pump/reservoir assy was mounted where the spare tire would be, the box was hinged at the very back at the frame and the cylinder was mounted in the center of the frame (offset some due to the driveshaft) about halfway between the cab and end of the frame. if they would have used a second frame to support the box i think it could be functional to a degree but the way it was the box had no under support and you would either bend the box or punch the end of the cylinder ram through the box floor. i think its a neat concept as long as you realize the load limitations. Dave.
