So you're putting ported and polished 390 heads on an otherwise stock 360, right?

yeah they were off of a 390GT....... and the intake off of a 390 which was also ported and polished......the funney thing about this is when i was driving home from school i was a little heavy on the gas(100mph) cause i was screwing with one of my friends on the highway and i think i bent a pushrod cause it started clicking when i put it in third when i hit the on-ramp...i was only doing 40mph when i changed gears... that or i could have collapsed one of the lifters but i think a pushrod would go b/f a lifter would

so other than that it runs awsome and has TONS of power

i heard about the "slick 50 or the QMI" does that stuff really work? and if it does is it worth spending $10 a quart?
thanks

DD2k shows that even with the rediculously low compression you're still getting 310hp @ 5000rpm out of the thing. Ported heads, headers, and the 4V intake do help!

Slick 50??? Give me a break! That junk is probably what clogged up your lifter! It's got Teflon in it, which when used in an engine plugs everything up, especially oil sensitive parts like lifters. Avoid that like the plague, just use regular motor oil.

hey my grandad talked to some of his friends that worked in the ford shops and they said that on the rocker arms that there was a special bolt at each end that had different threads and where that went in there was a cut-out thing that supplys oil to the rockers and the lifters and everything.....can any of u tell me sompthing about that i looked and there is an oil thing in the center bolt
im going to fix that tonight and replace the pushrod( i hope its a pushrod)

According to my chiltions manual, the 360 had a 7:2:1 compression ratio. The 352's had 8:1.

C-M-D,

I don't quite understand what you are talking about... Are you talking about the one bolt on each head that threads by the single oil passage to the valvetrain on each head or are you talking about the press-in plugs at each end of the rocker shaft?

R.I.P. Dimebag Darrell
He was the brother of drummer Vinnie and the 2 started the metal band Pantera. Just this year they formed a new band together named Damageplan. Pantera disbanded due to lead singer Phil Anselmo's drug use and other internal problems. Dimebag was shot last night by a crazed fan and killed. I believe 3 other fans were killed and and 2 are in the hospital. I know that this has nothing to do with FE's or engines for that matter, but I thought it was pretty sad and it definately puts life into perspective.

not the plugs...its the third bolt back.....it is skinnier so that the oil can lube the rocker shaft(someone just told me that) "the one bolt on each head that threads by the single oil passage to the valvetrain on each head"
you said it best
thanks

If I'm not mistaken, Gt heads should have fairly small chambers. The best thing you can do, is change crank and rods, best bang for the buck overall, and cam if you don have one now. Consider, duals if those aren't already on aslo.
