Another vibration problem
Now that the 450lb topper shell is off and 4.10's have been added, got a serious driveshaft problem. Had the front part legthend 8" because I swapped from an E4OD to AOD. Thought that was problem but come to find out new front shaft has only .001" runout (yup, had it rechecked). No place in my area can balance the entire shaft with center bearing. All the u-joints were replaced 50K miles ago and the center bearing when the front half of the shaft was made.
I jacked the truck and yup, right at the slip yoke, mega wobble. Funny part is if I add a pay load, the vibration is practically gone. Don't know if the load is sucking up the vibes or if it is articulating my driveline angle OR pushing the slip yoke in the front-half shaft more.
I tried shiming the bearing 1/4", no gain, tried aligning side-ways, no help.
Just not ready to dump $500 on a custom shaft if I don't have to. But tired of legs falling asleep from the vibration....yeah, its that bad.
Any help plz.
