it will not shift correctly. it started by the O/D light flashing and would not pull unless you started in 1st, 2nd, then D. It would also stop pulling if you gave it more gas to pass or speed up. The dealer put it on the computer but it did not show anything. We checked the vacuum lines and the connector under the drivers seat. Does anyone know of a good place to get a remanufactured tranny? thanks
If you have a Schucks in your area (aka Kragen in other parts of the country) they will loan you the unit to pull codes if you put down a $200 deposit on the unit. Something to think about.
I agree, at this point in time I'm not yet convinced it's time for a new tranny. Ask your neighbors/friends/coworkers for a few names of local tranny shops then get 2 - 3 more opinions. When at the shop, DON'T tell them that someone has already looked at it; let them draw their own conclusion and present it to you. BTW, steer clear of Aamco; those cute commercials with the beeping horn along with that Aamco name are overly expensive when their work is all said and done.
