Question Head bolt question

Hi folks,
I posted this question in the old truck forum and got no reply so I thought that I would try here. I just bolted the head down on the old 215 six last night. Now, as I contemplate lifting this thing, I am considering making a lift that's alot like the factory lift bracket. But to use it means I have to unbolt a couple of head bolts and secure the lift bracket to the block with slightly longer bolts.
My question: after torquing the head bolts down in proper sequence to the proper toque specification, does removing two of them and then later putting them back create any problems? For what it's worth, the bolts which would be extracted and replaced are two not under the valve cover and each is the third one in from their respective ends.

I would not bolt any thing under a head bolt that was not OEM. I would find some place on the outside to bolt them to. If you loosen 1 head bolt you need to remove all the bolts and re-torque them!

FWIW I would agree. You can use the motor mount bolt-holes and the ones for the bellhousing, it isn't perfect but it works. Matt.

Thanks for the responses. I had concerns about using the head bolt holes...hence the post. I placed a scanned photo of the factory lift bracket in my gallery.( I don't have a web site to host photos, yet)
