after rebuild clean up

390 rebuild. my shift colum on my steering wheel, the numbers or letters are off by one, So instead of park im in like "ultra park", haha, and when in reverse, its in park, neutral is reverse, and d is neutral, 2nd is drive, and 1st should be 2nd. How do i fix this. Truck only starts in "ultra park". I have an auto c6.

I know its winter, but i have an a/c i want to install. Its all stock, im going to put it back together, my question is what hose goes on what side of the pump.. The ones that are in the engine bay that go to the pump, the 2 hoses. How much would it cost to go to an A/c place to have them get it going again from best case to worst case senario. I have never had it working before. (im moving to Az so it needs to work eventually)

Next thing is my kick down from my edelbrock 1406 electric choke carb. The kickdown rubs against the last bolt on my intake manifold, so it doesnt work properly. I have an automatic c6. Also does anybody know what bolt size and kind of bolt i need to have to screw down the kickdown metal linkage to the tranny?

I'm sure i have other probs that need to be figured out, but not really sure right now. Thanks for the help.

Is your Shift rod adjustable? It's the rod that connects to the shifting arm at bottom of steering column in the engine compartment. The other end connects to the shift lever on the side of the transmission.

I have had this issue crop up when converting to power steering on certain Ford truck columns. The repair in that case is to extend the shifting arm by 1". Again, it's at the bottom of the steering column. To extend the arm I just cut the arm and weld in a 1" section. If no welder, then you could drill holes in the arm and bolt a plate to get your 1'' longer arm, which I've found aligns the position indicator by the steering wheel.

its the same setup as i had before my rebuild and it worked correctly so it should work right. I probably put the tranny and the shift in wrong gear when put together

Go back under the truck and reset the shift at the tranny. Your kick down may have gotten bent, just bend it back.

Ac small line is high psi, large line is suction. I change from the big stock compressor that is a big drag on your engine down to a smaller type a Sanden 5-cyl and cools great.. check out my photos of it in..my 2cent
