Replacing glow plug harness.

On my 88 IDI, the glow plug conectors are all shot. I was wondering how hard the harness is to replace and is it readily available?

Thanks,

Adam

Check the harness whole, if the rest is in good shape then I would simply snip off the 8 GP connectors and spilce in some nice boot type ones. I used ones of a ZGM harness. They are about 2 inches of boot which provides for some nice protection. I did just pick up a harness in a junkyard for 45.00. Ford told me 135.00.

You say they are shot ......do you mean the plastic has cracked and fallen off. If this is the problem you can just get heat shrink in the required size and put it over the ends. I did two layers each on mine and allowed a slight overhang on the tip end to ensure they would not short out on the block should they be removed for service and the key was inadvertently turned on. Any cutting of the wire changes the resistance level and can effect the controllers operations.......if you must cut do as little as possible.
