I just bought a new F-150 4.2 v6, and was wondering about some of the specs on it, such as red line, number of gears (automatic), and rear diff ratio. Also what kind of engine preformance upgrades work the best ( I'm on a tight buget, and allready planned for cat back exhaust and kn intake). Also can you take it to the local auto shop and hook it up to the comp and adjust shift points, rev limitor, top speed limitor, ect. or do you have to buy a chip?
auto has 4 gears, look at the tag on the inside of the driver's door and you will see an axle code, post that number back on here and someone can tell you your ratio. You will need a chip to adj shift pts, etc. Look a little farther down in the forums and you will find a 4.2 forum, post your engine ?s in there. Those guys will be more than happy to answer you.
