Why does the truck smoke with big throttle and low rpm, or why does he want his truck to smoke?
The truck smokes with a lot of throttle at low rpm because you're adding fuel very quickly, and the turbo isn't spooled up enough to supply enough air. If you keep your foot buried in the throttle, the smoke will taper off as the turbo catches up.
I gotta say this. Smoke and lot's of power and smoking the rice burners are lot's of fun. I for one would rather have the extra fuel be added a 1/2 second after the boost comes on so you get the great power without smoking up the atmosphere. I know that it can be done with the proper programming and the truck will go just as fast as the smoky one. Just more politely. Deisel soot is very harmful to get imbedded in your lungs, it is very difficult for your body to get it out due to it's very small particulate size.
