if you notice, the water just appears to be coming from no where... cavitation holes are very very small and usually don't leak until there is at least the weight of water in the heads pushing down on the water in the block and force the water out. And when it gets hot and the cooling system heats up it pushes water out the holes. So basically you can't see the holes at all. If you get some paint thinner, pour that in the block, it's thinner and will seep through the hole easier than coolant or water.
Mine cavitated on cylinder number 4, i hear 7 and 8 are common though.
OK, thanks. Im not sure that I want to put the heads back on just to test it when I could do the paint thinner way. Not to mention refilling the block and radiator. So Ill do that.
I think IH has a kit they use, it has block off plates and rubber gaskets in place of heads and lower coolant manifold plug and upper one too I believe so they can pressurize the block. No need for rad then.
